Firefox keeps sending me several pop ups daily to update to 47, which I do not want.

Is there a way to stop these pop ups?

(As I know from experience that wel-meaning forists will come up with unwanted suggestions: Please, answers to MY question.... thank you all)

Even though that is ticked and has been for years, it will now update anyway.

Must have taken lessons from Microsoft

38.8 ESR is forced to 45.20 ESR, can't stop it.

Using a portable version, no background service.

Noticed yesterday, suddenly the search option was the new stupid retarded Firefox way, then checked version and it had been updated in the background.

Wouldn't expect a portable version to auto update, using the normal installed version, I`ll go days/weeks without realising there is a new version until I see it posted somewhere, then manually update it

Or the ESR version, they're still in the 30s last I checked.

Ah, gotcha, default is a custom setting, not release channel.

Done it now and then hopefully I'll be left alone by FF, thanks again

7 hours was just an exaggeration to their insane quest to catch up with Chrome numbers. Why they don't they just skip a number or two or 20 instead, like Windoze did.
