I hope someone can help me out with this issue: i ran a Dell precision m4600 on A15 Bios . Erverthing runs fine till yesterday. i boot up the Laptop and the Screen stuck at the Dell Logo with the Bios loadingbar finished. I hit F12 , nothing. Unplug Cmos for 2h. nothing. Evertime Dell logo and loadingbar freezes at the end. I read that a dell bios can be recovered with unpluged CMOS press END and plug in the powercord. But i need a BIOS file ( BIN and HDR = as far as i now. If i start the Laptop with power on and hit D all Displaychecks are ok. if i power on and hit Fn key boot in diagnostic mode and freeeze. Unplugged HD is the same problems. I would be great if someone can help me out. Bios as EXE >> http#://dl.dell.com/FOLDER04331251M/1/Precision_M4600_A17.exe Best regards Lowis

Dual boot Win10 / OSX Catalina But without attached HD the Loading bar freezes
Hello, i have done this tests with F12 ( this key open Bios settings, Diag Settings and alternative Boot option ) without harddrive, WWAN card, WLAN card Still no chance to get further than freeze at the end of the loading bar from the Dell Screen
If it freezes on Dell logo after BIOS has been loaded and the hard drive is on its place, then is most likely problem with hard drive or with installed op-systems, there should be something wrong. Then it means, there is nothing more to load. But usually then You should get any error notice or if it Windows, what should be loaded first, it should try to fix something. Did You tried for example with some Linux live CD/USB (without hard drive installed), if it works, then is computer itself OK, reason is the hard drive or installed OS, etc. Really, if You try whatever Linux live and it works normally, then is everything more clear. If that also doesn't work, you need to start looking for a bug in the BIOS, maybe a reflash it. Maybe remove CMOS battery and check it, it should be at least 3.2V on working stage, on idle even a bit more. If it is out of date (less than 3.2V), there are usually no startup problems, but you can't save the settings.
Yes i tried a lve boot stick and a live CD without success. CMOS Battery is on 3,02 volts I 've done the test with and without harddrive. Alway the same. Freezing las shown on my photos. I am wondeing that there is no method to Bios recovery for this model. Many other Dell Laptops has this method.
All Dells have the same recovery method, but currently is very hard to guess, if it helps in Your case. Try to find the reason of this problem You have. But if the battery voltage is less than 3.2V, it should be replaced. As I already said, it should not be the reason, but if on one day Your computer starts again, it will not remember any BIOS settings and also some features even on BIOS panel may not work as should. Very often for example mouse and touchpad and sometimes even keyboard won't work. But I can't suggest anything more right now. However, there is no way to believe that this computer will never work again. However, I still think it will work...
There are a few threads you can find in the internet about this issue on the m4600, but no threads lead into a solution.
There are 2 chips on the board on location U52 and U53 . Who needs the EC file and who the bin file ?
