You may be able to remove the laptop battery but you'll need to open the laptop for this. Not all laptop are made the same, some use traditional desktop motherboard battery, other you need to unsolder the battery wire, etc. Some you'll be able to access the battery only removing back cover, most you'll need to dig to the heart of the laptop. P-S. : Just found a video quickly on google. I can't post the link but google "How to replace the CMOS battery in the Dell Precision M4500 Laptop". Look pretty easy. Disconnect the battery 10 minutes, reconnect and you should be good to go.
if it boots maybe cmospwd in usb dos... remove hdd to boot usb. maybe force flash it by recovery method.. seems newer model so might not get the file with .exe /writehdrfile i think..
right. first i tried extracting the hdr & rom files via cmd for example m4500a15.exe/ writehdrfile /writeromfile but it didn't work. then i found a python script and was able to extract the hdr file. i couldn't extract the rom though. so now i have the hdr file. fyi - i tried cmospwd recovery via usb and it didn't work. how do you recommend to force flash recovery method?
Do you have a QWERTY keyboard or some other layout? Also did you try pressing CTRL+ENTER after you typed in the case-sensitive code?
i tried the recovery passwords directly from windows m4500A15.exe. i didn't try from the bios directly. I will try and let you know. fyi - the laptop keyboard is not working. i'm using external wired microsoft 600 keyboard. will this keyboard work? it is qwerty - right?
Look at your keyboard at the letter Q and follow it to the right. If the keys spell QWERTY, then you have a QWERTY keyboard. I think I have heard of others using a USB keyboard when the built-in one is not working.
i tired the recovery passwords from bios with crtl + enter and nothing worked. yes, my keyboard is qwerty.

Hello all, Good news. I was able to fix the issue and i was able to remove the admin bios password. the issue was, the four last digits 2A7B were wrong - not sure why the system is reflecting the following but in reality different. i tried changing the four last digits and tested most of the following 595B/D35B/2A7B/A95B/595B/D35B/2A7B/A95B/1F5A/3A7B/3A5B/1D3B and 1F5A was the code. I used the following url bios-pw.org and was able to generate the recovery bios password. Thanks to everyone tried helping. Great forum and support.
I updated the bios to a15 (see below) and everything is running smooth - no hangs and no glitches. i'm running base Windows 7 x64 and using oracle virtualbox to run Ubuntu 14.04 and CentOS 7. System Manufacturer: Dell Inc. System Model: Precision M4500 System Type: x64-based PC BIOS Version: Dell Inc. A15, 12/5/2013
