    Hi all,

I've been trying to install Win7 Ultimate 64bit on a 500GB Seagate H/D for the last hour or so and just keep getting the following error code:

    Error code: 0x80070017

I've tried about 5 separate install disks but this error code keeps re-occuring at the "expanding windows files" stage of the installation.

    Any help would be appreciated.

    Thanks in advance,

Burning the discs at a high speed may cause issues, so if you did that, try a slow burn.

jayblok, Sorry about the delay guys but yes, it's IDE.
And in response to 100 , I burn Win7 to disk at a lower speed and it was successful. It installed no problems.

    Thanks guys for your help.
