    I am using a 3rd party version of windows 7.
    It is working very well for me, especially since discovering Explorer++, BUT=>

    It has the ugliest, most obnoxious startup & shutdown images which I would like to change.
    I found a BMP matching that in system32/oobe & renamed it;
    I also found out about the OEMBackground reg. key and changed it.
    Searching for .BMP or .JPG files did not reveal the nasty thing.

    Please direct me to find and change these ugly thing ??

    Thanks.

    I'm using a software called "Windows 7 Logon Background Changer". Has always worked.

    Logon and shutdown picture is the same in 7.

    Toying with those screens since Windows 95. Custom logos were a thing even then.
