kb4284835 fails constantly. I downloaded the stand alone. Fails same way, and yes I tried all those "fixes", dism, scans and what nots.

What I want to know, is how to prevent Windows 10 from installing kb4284835.

A windows tech gave instructions in the past, but I can't seem to find it.

I would be more investigative about the reason why it fails and fix it, than trying to stop it from installing.

You didn't say if you have Home or Pro ? Pro gives you options that Home does not have.

Log for WAU usually can be find as “%SystemRoot%\WindowsUpdate.log” (i.e. “C:\Windows\WindowsUpdate.log”)

That's easy to say. "Windows/logs/CBS.log" is 32MB in size, and exactly what am I looking for. Nothing in there makes since to me. Filtering out "error" brings nothing. I can upload it if you want to look at it.

The above error message comes from "/media/vmc/WindowsPRO/Windows/SoftwareDistribution/ReportingEvents.log". A one line output of errors.
I googled the 0x800f0922 error, and a plethora of differing opinions. First came up on windows 8.1

0x800f0922 generally happens when an external AV is blocking some folders/files/registry entries related with Windows Update or system components, and thats why the update fails to install, because does not have permissions.

Not fixing the problem will make the problem reappear at the next CU on WU.

I did try all of these except for the regedit and the temp files delete, because i wasted ALOT of time testing other methods just gave up on these two, is there any chance that one of them solves the problem?
