I am playing with an updated image of Windows 7 to find compatibility issues, and need to run it on Hyper-V. The image base is refreshed build 6.1.7601.17514, updated to 6.1.7601.26958. Unable to install Hyper-V Services, as they require RTM base of 6.1.7600.16385. I faced that with LanguagePacks, when was unable to install RTM LPs, but was able to do Microsoft-Windows-Client-Refresh-LanguagePack. Is there a refresh version of Microsoft-Hyper-V-Integration-Services-Package, that can be installed on top of 6.1.7601.17514 base? Versions I tried tell that "The specified package is not applicable to this image." Update:Microsoft-Hyper-V-Integration-Services-Package~31bf3856ad364e35~amd64~~6.3.9600.19456 (Windows6.1-KB4072650-x86-r2.cab from WHD) installed fine. Thanks
can you post the benefirs of installing hyper-V on 7 ? also can you post a link of KB4072650 and how you installed it on 7? thanks.
To make it clear - I don't "install Hyper-V on Windows 7", I create a Win7 VM on Hyper-V. The guest services are now not in host OS and must be taken from WU, - and the version that can be downloaded from Download center can't be installed on SP1 image, - requires RTM one. That can be fixed easily, - install Windows Hotfix Downloader, specify platform, download the Windows6.1-KB4072650-x86-r2.cab or Windows6.1-KB4072650-x64-r2.cab, use it
