bought a win 11 pro oem key from kinguin, used it on a win 10 pro fresh install (after major hardware upgrade and my usual win10 genuineticket trick failed), and it activated, not at first, but after the phone-in method, win 10 activated. Before buying the key, you are informed with "This key can be used only once per PC/motherboard.". I like doing fresh installs and trying the newest build as they come out so of course i'd like to know if there are ways to carry over the activation so i can continue doing fresh win10 installs with this key. Will the genuineticket trick work or is there another way?
Anything that does digital activation will work. You want your copy of Windows to be digitally activated. If it is tied to a MS account it works even better.
yeah that would be ideal. i have signed into my microsoft account and checked activation status but it only says windows is activated, not digitally activated tied to my account. Whats up with that too?
As you know you can use Windows 7 Pro Key into Windows 10 or 11 will works just fine.. Another way, I would put one key for Windows 10 (Clean install) then 2nd partition for WIndows 11 (different key) Clean Install, You can do DUAL Boot WIndows 11 or 10.. ATGPUD2003
What about a Windows 8 Media Center Pack product key? I have one, never tried it on Build 19045.2486.
If it is a paid key, it should work. The free keys given out by MS for a short time don't work anymore, for a long time now.
a long story short, my win 10 is activated with a digital license now. Had to do do a lot to get it this way but it worked out in my favor finally. 1) installed Windows 10 22H2 Build 19045.2486 via usb. 2) used the purchased Kinguin Windows 11 pro oem key, activated windows, signed into Microsoft account, ran updates, activation window only said "windows is activated". 3) extracted and ran gatherosstate.exe from Windows 11 22H2 Build 22621.1105 iso, copied and saved the generated GenuineTicket.xml. 4) rebooted, ran knoppix live via usb, cleaned out all of windows, deleted all partitions from c: drive, shutdown pc. 5) reinstalled Windows 10 22H2 Build 19045.2486 via usb 6) Copied GenuineTicket.xml from step 3 to C:\programdata\microsoft\windows\clipsvc\genuineticket\ of my w10 installation and rebooted again. now activation window says "windows is activated with a digital license". now i haven't signed into my Microsoft account yet, kind of hesitant to LOL.
