PDN devs are a bunch of dicks and take down old versions of Paint.NET for whatever stupid reason, i'm looking for the 4.3.12 offline installer. Anyone?
You're welcome I had only 4.3.8, but I use older versions because they are way leaner and also works better for my personal usage, I don't even remember what drove me mad about 4.3.x, but I remember clearly that whatever it was, was a regression for me. Whatever, @Tito linked 4.3.12, while I was uploading my files, so you should be fine either way.
does anybody know which is the last version to not need .NET 5 or 6.0 ? I don't want it automatically installing that on my pc
Nah, that comes after the "replace the MSI installer with a 70MB CEF bootstrapper that deploys an entire chromium web browser just to copy the damn files" step. It's disgusting popular right now.
I really don't get this mindset. Why do devs feel the need to alienate their users by completely blocking programs from running on W7? They're not forced to provide support to such users, but at least they should be able to download and run the program.
Just for info: Last PDN version for non-SSE2 CPUs is 4.2.5. Not only that, but they also abandoned 32bit completely. With a 32bit machine, no matter the OS, you need the old 4.3.12.
With the current trends in software development and Windows 7 compatibility issues starting to rise up I wonder if having a thread where we keep track of optimal / last known good versions of software wouldn't be a bad idea.
You can still find msi version... ( Google version instead Ms etc ) ( Secret link, it actually work, msi version )
