thank you. i just read that i cannot install storage server as a vm. it can only be installed on dedicated hardware. is this right? my plan was to install it as a fileserver-vm in esxi. edit: i just tried to install my english iso in esxi and it seems to work (i interrupted the process when it came to key input). not sure whethe rit works finally or not. maybe soneone knows about that....
@LostED i am not sure about what you posted. do i have to use the "normal" Windows-server-iso to apply the 2 german svf files to it? i already have this iso: en_windows_storage_server_2016_x64_dvd_9718830.iso can i use this iso to apply to it, too? which svf do in need to apply then? and with this self cfreated iso, how can i check the sha1 to see if it is legit? i guess the sha1 will not be 61E30823077733AAE56889ACC991DB5E9908504C like mentioned in my first post.
hello! managed it by myslef, i think. first i changed english standard server to german standard server with the first svf, than i changed this german standard server iso to german storage with the 2nd sfv. the checksum is correct. thanky alot. ps: your link is not working for me. maybe a browser problem on my site.
hi @ all, just to keep you informed: the "english" key worked for the german Installation. Windows Storage Server 2016 is running as vmware-vm and is activated. Thank you so much for the help, especially LostED. i would not have managed this case without you.
