Right arrow key the key that move the cursor to the right under the word shift is not working along with the zero on the number pad and the 6 also on the number pad. It was working befofe I did some windows updates. How can I fix this error. I dont think my keyboard on my latop is messed up. Before a reboot the number pad did not work at all.

Could it be my keyboard is damaged my arrow key works with onscreen keyboard.

I have no money right now to replace the keyboard in the laptop.

You could uninstall driver, then reboot. See what happens. This often solves.

Reboot then see if it working, if not in device manager, locate your keyboard, right click on it, select uninstall then reboot, driver will be reinstalled on reboot, see if that works:D

Not exactly this error, but compressed air can clean lots of crap from under a key, cathair, lint, dog fuzz, and you also can remove the PAD and see if you can make the key work with a pencil, if yes,
then add a bit or cardboard (you do need to trim so just long enough to stand taller than the pad pins) to the pad and reinsert... I have fixed many that way...

Thank you all for your help reinstalling the driver fixed the errors. I hate when a windows update F's up a driver it should not be touching.

I will try that in the future if I ever have a bad key that is not driver related.

I have had this happen w/o an update. Start up. No keyboard, or no mouse. Sometimes simply unplugging, and plugging works.

mine was a laptop so it had to be done with drivers. I have to do that on every reboot or my logitech c920 cam or it wont work.

This same happened to one of my friend, I think it is not a hardware issue, may be this can be a software internal issue, you should try to go previous version of windows and then check it whether it is working or the issue still happening.

I cant do that I am on the latest version of windows. I am not on an insider build and it just started happening again. I have no way of reinstalling windows my optical driver is broken and I dont own any flash drives. It is just randomly not working. It just started happen ing last night and I got the windows updates on wednesday.

Should I try a usb keyboard when I can aford one to see if that will fix the issue?

Could skype be the cause of it? I have read in the past about skyping messing up usb keyboards but not built in laptop ones.

Could all my issues be software related? Could my norton antivirus be the cause? I had an update last week tht had me reboot and the only other thing I have had updates with is: Palemoon, Chrome and Internet Download Manager.

I leave the laptop alone for a few minutes then the keys starts working. I use the latoptop the keys stop working again. What do you all think is the cause of this?

I installed sharp keys and they started working all of a sudden I did not change anything in sharp keys but norton did scan the file before hand so my kepyboard issue could be related to norton. Should I give another antivirus a try to see if that solves my issue?

Sharp keys did not fix the issue so I uninstalled it.
