I'm on a legit Windows 7 Home Premium but want Windows 10 Pro. What's the best way to do this without reinstalling to Windows 7 pro.
Tried some keys from there on the WAU but still won't upgrade. "The upgrade key you entered is for an edition of Windows that does not work with Windows Anytime Upgrade. Enter a different upgrade key".
@digitalnemesis Lets clear out the confusion first: 1. Is the installed Home Premium OEM:SLP activated? 2. Do you have any MSDN copy of Windows 7 ISO?
@digitalnemesis murphy's one aren't exactly MSDN copies, they are homebrew. Can you please post a screenshot of the error? Microsoft may prevent OEM:SLP keys to do Anytime Upgrade, but there is no such reported error. Anyway, you can follow another long route: edit registry & cversion.ini to force an upgrade.
I'm not sure what happened but I played a bit with Daz Loader and even though WAU gave me an error, when I restarted the laptop I'm now on Windows 7 Ultimate... I then activated using an Alienware OEM SLP key for Windows 7 Ultimate and it activated successfully legit.
I've read that MS disabled Anytime Upgrade for W7. Personally, I've gone from W7 Home Premium to W7 Professional, using WAU, the day after W10 was released publicly (final). Edit: Just successfully upgraded Home Premium to Ultimate, using oem key.
