i need some links to files or sites that infect machines with scareware programs like rogue and fake antivirus programs.

i have been looking and can't find any.

i'm wanting to test a few things on a test machine and would really love to get infected but i can't find any place to download such files.

    please help me

site doesn't help at all because once they are listed there, they are usually taken down

as a matter of fact i've tried over 50 sites thus far and not a single one is up

    so thanks anyway...

    still looking for active sites

    what refreshing thread this is!!!!!!!!
    :D
of course you only get infected when you don`t want to be......
when you try to provoke an infection, out of whatever masochistic
reasons, nothing ever happens, of course.......
that`s the way those cookies [sic] crumble.........
i have not been infected in about a year, [i hope!!]
at least i did not notice, and neither did my scanner or my machine..
so i cannot at this time provide you with an instant suicide link..
    ever so sorry:)

i can provide you with things i never do, because i don`t want
an infection.my suggestion; don`t bother with po*n sites,
just google around for the best virus scanner, and then doubleclick on
anything you never ever heard of..satisfaction  guaranteed!!
make sure you use ie, not ff or chrome, have javascript enabled, etc..
and GOOD LUCK!! [gawd help you..;)]

I find it hilarious that you're actually trying to get infected without any luck(?), while others avoid the infections by all means! :biggrin5:

You want to get infected? Shut completely down your firewall and AV with other possible safety SW you have. Start browser. Go to settings and disable popup blocker and other restrictions. Google (with safe settings off) warez/p*rn/keygen. Go thru some sites - Preferrable one of those "fast direct download" ones with as manu popups as possible. Follow links from there. Don't forget to click those banners, too. Any time site asks you to install something, accept. "You need to download codec for this"? Yes, please! In short, act like brainless and you will get your infection(s). Just don't blame me if you get more than you bargained for. :weeping: :biggrin5:

type of actions like this do not always produce infection, and i'm not doing this on my working machine, this is for a test machine, which i've tried all the above, and so far nothing, nada, zilch. it just hasn't happened. that's why i'm hoping that someone who has encountered a fake AV from somewhere will just link me to it so that i can get it. fake AV programs are specifically what i'm looking for, not random trojans and spyware. those are easy to combat imo, but fake AVs take some work to correct and i really need to improve my skills regarding them, and potentially automate registry and component fixes after repair through scripting...

    so again, still searching.

You're either luckiest or unluckiest person I know, depending on the point of view.
Most likely it's just one realization of murpy's Law? :biggrin5:

One suggestion more. Go to TPB, choose windows applications. Find few new (before they get deleted!) small softwares going usually by names like "facebook hack tools", "free calls" or something ridiculous and are uploaded anonymously or using names like jrsgrasj. If more than one user is yelling "virus!" in comments, you should be good to go.

As Murpy's law is apparenly in it's full force, you may find what you're looking for... a day after you decide end your quest and secure your computer. :weeping:

    thanks to everyone that replied,

    but

i'm marking this thread as solved because i've not found what i'm looking for. i care not about worthless trojans and the like. i'm specifically looking for FAKE AV / SCAREWARE PROGRAMS and nothing else.
