Recently bought a Dell Inspiron 14R 5437 laptop with Windows 8 SL (ES). Everything worked fine. Decided to get a Windows 8.1 SL (EN) version and did a clean install. After installing windows and successfully activating I started to install drivers from official dell site via wired internet. First downloaded Wifi/WLAN driver but it doesn´t seem to install (Message displayed during instal: The installer can not run on this platform. Please select package for your operating system.) Please help me because this is keeping me from having wireless internet. Thanks in advance.

NOTE: The drivers are available only for 64bit operating system,
are you sure you have installed Windows 8.1 x64 on your Dell?

While that should be true, the Lenovo Q190 desktop has Windows 8.1 wi-fi drivers that do not work and the Win 8 drivers need to be re-installed a couple of times to get it working. So there are problems going around between different manufacturers with 8.1.
