Hello i'm using Office 2016 Pro Plu VL Build 16.0.4312.1000 on WIN10, i want to know why the update button under account menu is not available, whereas using the RTM version on WIN7 (I don't remember the precise build) the button is available and it has permitted me to update office getting new black theme. The problem lies in the fact that i would want to benefit from dark/black theme that i think is available with the latest updates using the button inside account menu. Using Windows update i'm not be able to get the black theme even if the latest updates have been installed. Can you tell me the way in order to update my Office VL version to the last build getting all the new features and improvements? Why the update button under file_account is hidden? Thank you
VL version uses Microsoft Update and has no update button. Only Click to Run versions (all versions except VL) have that button. Also I think that VL won't get new features (such as the black theme), but I don't know that for sure.
Thank you for your reply! I don't understand why such differences between this two version, meaning why there are less features into VL. At this stage I prefere to have new features instead of the chance to customize the installation excluding characteristics. Are you sure about that? Are there others features in VL missing, with respect to Click to run? Where could I find the last official available clicktorun version with Italian language? Here I found just Italian VL. Thank you

Probably is due to the 64bit version instead of 32bit but I wait . I have another interesting thing to be solved...on another machine with windows 7 pro 64bit, windows update doesn't find anything about office 2016 saying the system is updated. Is there the probability that windows 7 doesn't manage the update of office 2016 VL? When office started I said to manage the update automatically! If I want to check this option is there a way to review again such pop-up?
Look for a checkbox in settings regarding getting updates for other Microsoft products when running Windows Update. Or on Windows 7, make sure you choose to enable the Microsoft Update.
I've Already checked all the settings related to Microsoft products since I installed the 2016 version. Is there anybody who gets office 2016 VL updates from windows 7?
C2R is an installation technology, it's compared with the well-known MSI installation technology Volume is a licensing channel, it has nothing to do if office version is C2R or MSI nonetheless, MSI is officially available as VL only
I got your explanation but actually with my version there is no way to update trough windows update! Even if Microsoft product check box in windows update is selected. Any other solutions?
Search for thread "After-integrating-msie11-cab-and-the-dutch-languagepack-no-microsoft-update" There is a script from murphy78 that solves this problem. It did for me at least. Sorry I cant post the link, as this is my first post and it wont allow me to post links.
Maybe, I have not been enough clear...my problem is not about windows update in general but only regarding OFFICE 2016 UPDATE not available trough WINDOWS 7 UPDATE! Everything is up to date and windows update seems to work perfectly! (The same OFFICE 2016 VL version on windows 10 is able to get update trough WINDOWS update)
