So I just need some advice, basically my laptop which is listed below is nearing it's end so i have to replace it since I need a computer for schooling.
    LAPTOP - Dell Inspiron 15 7548:
    CPU: i5-5200u
    RAM: 8gb DDR3
    GFX: Intel HD Graphics 5500

I plan to buy an old Desktop with the specs:
    MOTHERBOARD: MSI MS-7758
    GFX: GTX 650 Ti 1GB
    CPU: i5-3470 3.20ghz
    RAM: 16gb DDR3

I know I'm replacing a crappy laptop with a crappy desktop but it's all i can get right now don't judge me I'm poor.
Anyways will the new desktop be equal to or slightly better than the laptop I'm replacing? I already researched about the specs of the desktop, I've looked at benchmarks and comparisons so I already have somewhat of an idea, I just want to here what you guys think.

10x Better graphics, better Motherboard, twice the memory. I'd say better.

Yeah that also what the benchmarks told me so I think I might get it, thanks for the feedback!

    8 GB DDR3 RAM versus 16 GB DDR3 RAM

    It's a "no brainer".
The desktop is a MUCH better improvement in speed and performance. :)

    @PaulTroll1282
You said "I need a computer for schooling."
    I don't think so...
However, it seems that you do not need such an exchange for study purposes.
So how much do You earn from this swap?

Oh I need it alright, I'm currently in my 3rd semester of university (I'm an IT Student and everything is being done online because of corona), hence why I need a new computer, can't have my laptop fail on me while in the middle of a semester.

Well the desktop is a third Gen I5 and the laptop is a fifth Gen I5 so u will trading down to a older CPU u mite want to consider that option.
