I've been experimenting with S Mode and so far haven't found a way to turn it off without MS's blessings. Even worse once turned on even wiping the SSD and reinstalling won't turn it off. I assume that when it is turned on Windows is keeping this setting in the firmware.

Is there a tool that can be run in WinPE that will remove this setting.

I've also tried to figure out what is being downloaded from the MS store when turning off S Mode but so far have been unsuccessful.

Havent found a way? You can upgrade/switch from an S edition to a regular one by switching product key, right?

It's a mode, not an edition. Changing the edition won't turn off the mode.

It appears it stores this S mode information on the machine's TPM. Clear the TPM and this "S-Mode Lockdown" disappears.
