Hi there I have looked in the forum for an ISO for this PC brand but have had no luck in finding it. Using the 'search' option it uses 'time+computer', instead of a single keyword I haved used the OEMBios.exe to find the string and that is the only ISO that I can use on this PC. Sad to say it's very old ( 2003 ? ) and the disc has been misplaced. Any help/tips/advice would be welcome. Regards
What do you have installed at the moment? If it is OEM version then we only need oembios* set extracted sebus
Yes, it is only boot CD that runs: @Echo off Reload.exe EvilMonty Some sort of image restore utility, as 38956 said, that needs original OEM partition with the image sebus
Thank you all for your advice/help and upload. The PC had XP Home SP2 installed originally and I thought I could change it to XP Pro SP3 .... being an complete idiot I formatted the HDD and then used zero filled the HDD using WD Clear; but until I had used the BIOSOEM.exe tool to see if my PC could run XP Pro SP3. So I am unable to use the restore CD in my endeavour, however this was greatly appreciated. What I have done so far, is to use a friend's DELL OEM XP Pro CD and followed the tutorial 'Suicide Solution' which involved copying over the contents of the original CD and add the OEM Bios files for Tiny Computers. I burnt the disc and installed the OS and then was told that I had 30 days to activate. I did see right at the beginning it did tell me to use a VLK or PRO disc, but as I had neither to hand, I tried it anyway. Next I downloaded the 'HP dmi tattoo cd' and was unsure which option to choose ie Options: 2. Tatoo AMI-Award BIOS for Hewlett OEM 3. Tatoo Intel BIOS for Hewlett OEM My PC uses an AWARD BIOS, so I am guessing I would choose option 2? Excuse my ignorance but does then add the HP OEM string onto my motherboard allowing me to use the HP-Compaq XP Pro SP3 CD? Or do I need to use option 4 ( typing dmi at the prompt ) and then use one of the options providing eg dmi / ( option ) OEM "Product Key" .... ( I think that's what I saw ). My motherboard is found here: Albatron PM266A * Sorry, my post count is too low for me to provide a url in this post I know I have jumped the gun by my actions and have failed miserably.
