    Hello forum,

I recently bought a Zoostorm desktop PC which came without an OS installed. I found a copy of W7 Professional x64 and installed, but I'm having trouble activating it.

I tried to use Daz's Windows Loader, having had success with it on another machine previous, but it's not working. Whenever I run it, I see a message saying that it has installed successfully & that I should reboot my PC, but upon rebooting, nothing has changed.

By default the SLIC/Certificate/Serial entries in the profile section were all set to be "Dell". Does this matter? I tried playing around with this settings a few times, using Asus instead (the PC has an Asus motherboard) and also Zoostorm itself, but nothing changed.

I also looked at the readme file (or those parts of the readme file that I could understand, anyway) and it said that in cases like this I could play around with the memory settings - legacy mode, disable type 4, etc. I don't know what any of these things mean, but I tried them anyway and again, no joy.

Can anyone help? I apologise for my slight lack of technical expertise here...perhaps the solution is really obvious to someone who knows more about this stuff than I do.

Grateful for any advice, suggestions, etc.

    Alan.

Thanks - like this? Had to cut some lines out because this forum wouldn't let me post otherwise - said I wasn't allowed to post links until I had posted 20 times (or something like that) - hope that doesn't affect anything...? See below:

Check Disable type 4 memory under Advanced tab of the loader and re-install it.

    Thanks. 2 questions:

    1. The "Disable type 4" box is already checked (ticked). Should I uncheck?
    2. What about the settings under the Profile tab (as mentioned - Dell/Asus/Zoostorm) - what should I use in there?

    Regards,
    Alan.

    1. It is unusual.
    2. Anything; just note that SLIC and Cert should be same.

What is the model of the motherboard??

Thanks. The motherboard user guide that came with the PC is for the Asus P8H61-MX series.

There seems to be P8H61-MX R2.0 and a P8H61-MX USB3 variants. Looks like the latter has USB3 support, which I'm pretty sure this PC doesn't have, so I think I have the P8H61-MX R2.0 version.

Hmm... if you want to mod the bios let me know.

If disabling type 4 memory doesn't work then install the loader with the option selected to reverse the search direction.

    Thanks.

I selected the "reverse search direction" option, but unfortunately it still didn't work :-(

BIOS mod sounds a bit frightening...!
