[Solved] What is meant by non-core edition of Windows - Windows 7

Discussion in 'Windows 7' started by Deleted member 773088, Feb 6, 2017.

While doing rearm on Office 2013 VL edition on Windows 7 Ultimate 32 bit (retail, Windows 7 ISO as downloaded from Microsoft), I got some error and there was a mention of 'non core edition of windows' in the error message.

This post is not about solving that specific error as such in particular but my question is, what is meant by non core edition of Windows?

I have also searched the net but there's no specific info available about this terminology.
    Thanks.

I don't know what it means but you also get that message when activating MSDN windows server 2016 with kmspico without first inserting the correct gVLK.

Message simply means that without Explorer shell running, the additional info from 'slui.exe 0x2a 0x80070426' command can't pop-up.
