hi, noob here, so i appologise in advance if question has already been asked. i have searched the forum ... but i think i have information overload syndrome ? my question/s - 1 - i want to download windows 8.1 professional ... i think. - well i want a version of windows 8.1 pro which includes media center, IE, and all the stuff that im used to with windows 7? .... so .. which version do i download and can some one point me to the correct download link please? 2- activators - again information overload i think ... i know of kmspico, kms auto, MStoolkit ... which one would best suit someone who will install and forget? 3- ive read in some posts where the metro UI can be converted to "normal" windows UI as in windows 7 ... i cant find those post anymore ... can some one please point me to the links? again i appologise if this questions have been asked before. just wanna mention that i will be running on a custom pc .. not an oem pc!
thanks for reply Wazoo .... still stuck on q1 .... i downloaded "Windows 8.1 Professional VL 64-Bit" , activated using KMSAuto Lite Portable v1.1.6 but after trying to add WMC and some further reading , i believe, correct me if i am wrong, WMC cannot be added to VL versions? so im assuming i need win8.1proWMC version - is that correct? - i did see a post containing something about "esd" (my memory not so good)versions or summat??? can someone point me in the right direction for a win8.1pro with update and WMC please ? - and also which activator would i need to use for the WMC version, as i beleive not all activators work on that version?
wow too much information is not good .... i was good at messing around with windows 7 and older but this seems to be whole new ball game ... anyway .. could someone please clarify my statements below .... i cant find windows 8.1pro+update1+WMC iso ... if it exists please tell me? so i have to download a RTM of windows 8.1PRO download UPDATE 1 ... and create my own iso ... is that correct??? also i forgot to mention, i managed to get [FONT=Segoe UI,Arial,sans-serif]one of those free Windows 8 Media Center Pack product key[/FONT]s .. mine ends in ... MKH4Q ... i assuming this will make things easier?
do those links include the update1 ??? or the "rollout/up" whatever the term is? and will i need to enter a product key? ifso can i just use my free WMC key?
still awake ... keep getting "error 2" when trying to decrypt the esd file... what ive done ... -created folder in c: named it esd -extracted all files from esd zip folder to this folder in c: -cpoied the downloaded win8 esd file into this folder - right clicked on "decypt.cmd" and ran as admin.... kepp getting error 2 tried renaming esd file to install esd .. no joy tried open cmdprmt as admin and running manually ... no joy .. same error any help?

MS media creation tool??? im now downloading windows 8.1 pro using this official MS tool. - would this be an rtm version of windows?? - can i still use MTK to activate? - can i then upgrade to WMC using my free key?? any advise would be great?
You're mixing things up; first clear your ideas. 1. Update 1/April Update is IR3 release. Update 2 aka August Update is IR4 & Update 3 aka November Update is IR5. 2. If you download ProWMC ESD, then converted ISO will contain ProWMC SKU only - no need to convert anything.
Before running decrypt.cmd it is recommended that you temporarily disable your Anti-Virus to prevent interference with the running of the esd-decrypter program. This information is found in the ReadMe.txt file included with the decrypt.cmd file.
@coleoptere tried both of those ... First gives error 2 and stops at 67% second one says not compatible or summat @wazoo yep, all antivirus was turned off Gonna check hash in morning and try and re download the esd
Problem is at your side as I use it since abbodi1406 provided it without issues. Of course check the esd hash and compare it.
