I'm looking for a version of Windows 10 that will not force me, ask me or even mention that I should upgrade to Windows 11. Does such a beast exist?

I'm thinking the most likely suspect would be Windows 10 Enterprise LTSC 2021, would I be correct in this?

I am looking to install a version of Windows 10 on several machines, activate with HWID and stay on Windows 10 without being reminded about Windows 11 every time I go into settings.

    TIA

As far as I know, at least right now the transition to Windows 11 isn't mandatory, and there's nothing bothering you if you click link on Settings panel "Stay on Windows 10....." (or something similar, don't remember more exactly).
At least I haven't received any more notifications.

Tried Windows 10 IoT Enterprise LTSC 2021 this morning, no sign of Windows 11 notifications.

Yes, or any of the previous Enterprise LTSB/C releases.

If you want HWID activation then just install Enterprise 2021 LTSC in your language and use MAS 1.5 to activate it, when you select HWID activation, it will convert Enterprise 2021 LTSC to IoT Enterprise 2021 LTSC and hwid activate it.

When you are planning an en-US install then you can directly install en-US IoT Enterprise 2021 LTSC and HWID activate it.

I just tried what you said and it worked perfectly. Used massgravel and it converted to IoT as you mentioned. I went through all the screens in Settings, not one mention of Windows 11!!

It's like a barebones Windows 10 without all the junk, I love it!

Thanks for your assistance as always.

    @Enthousiast

I found another trick to stop Windows 11 notifications in Windows 10, thought I'd share. This trick apparently works on any version on Windows 10, including Pro.

You have to run the Group Policy Editor (gpedit) and follow these steps by clicking on these items:

    1 - Computer Configuration
    2 - Administrative Templates
    3 - Windows Components
    4 - Windows Update
5 - Windows Update for Business
6 - Click on Select the target Feature update version
7 - In the two boxes, enter Windows 10 and the current version (21H2)

This will remove any mention of upgrading to Windows 11, when a new Windows 10 version comes out, ex. 22H1, you just have to go back in and edit the version number.

I ran Windows Update and it did not mention Windows 11 at all. I hope this helps someone, thanks

Edit: Trying to figure out if leaving the version number blank will do the same job.

Yes, it's pretty much the same thing, just another way to get there I guess. If you go to sign up for Insider Previews, the "not compatible with Windows 11" message remains. Hopefully this can be fixed using Offline Enroll.

Verified Offline Enroll by abbodi fixes the Windows 11 message when you try to sign up for Insider Previews.

Looks like the best option without using any tricks is still installing one of the Windows 10 LTSC versions.

The only Windows 10 systems I have seen so far make an automated step towards Windows 11 (you still have to say yes after the download) are 11th gen Intel systems. I don't manage or own any Zen 3 or 12th gen Intel systems so I can't comment on those.

The last one was a MSI Summit e13 Flip Evo. This is my Niece's laptop that came with Windows 10. She received a popup about upgrading to Windows 11 and unfortunately she said yes.

I get the WIn 11 nagging even on my old x86 tablet (Asus T100TA), it's running 19044.1526 x86 now, it will most likely never get it (win 11 x86 doesn't exist) for real but the nagging is present.

To be honest to you, it all your choice choose Windows 10 or 11, as myself I keep Windows 10 for now until 3 more years see any improvements with Windows 11.. Here Draw back that why TPM and CPU supporting problems facing with customer(s) need re-buy new parts or computer system..I think Microsoft made big mistake for not able have Better CPU supporting down to 3rd or 4th Generations.. is more enough to use and because now you can buy TPM 2.0 module for less than $30 or less.. I have on my pc for $21 for TPM for my ASUS Z97-C and I tested Windows 11 (Disabled registries with CPU core support.) and works perfectly fine.. to detect my TPM and CPU.. I had updated just works charm.. Need re-work on Windows 11 to allow 3rd or 4th Gen CPU's!! I am sticking with Windows 10 for while until I see any improvement supporting 3rd and 4th Gen CPU for Windows 11!!

I agree, I'm keeping 10 on my older machines as long as possible, there is nothing wrong with Windows 10.

  15. Guys stay with 10 21H2.
Is fast, is stable is good..

11 it will be good starting from 23H2 mostly stable from 24H2.
Then using 24H2 LTSC will be good.

As a matter of fact my pc is locked to use only Windows 10 x64 Bit only.
I upgraded to ltsb 2016, ltsc 2018 and now ltsc 21h2.
What can i say, on 1809 i had slow performance around 45 sec cold boot, freezing in chrome slow performance and response.
But with 21h2 i now have 28 sec cold boot time, and way faster response on everything and my chrome is never froze again!

So again don't use 11 unless you have data to loose and nerves of steel !

Installed IoT Enterprise LTSC 2021 a few days ago, no problems until tonight. I also blocked windows 11 with the registry keys. I went to windows update today and it started downloading Windows 11.

Seems no way to stop windows 11 100%!!
