    Hello I am in w11 22483.1011 (Dev)
I want to update to the new 22489.1000. But I having this error when using Windows Update: "This PC must support Secure Boot"

Is there anyway to bypass that?

When first I clean installed w11, I created a "fixed" ISO, so it was easy, but now thru windows update I don't know how to do it.

    Thanks a lot!

    SOLUTION:
1- Update Windows thru Windows Update (Settings menu)
2- Windows will tell you the compatibility problem: tpm, ram, secure boot... close that (this happens arround 8% of the download)
    3- C:\$WINDOWS.~BT\Sources delete: appraiserres.dll
4- back to Windows Update (Settings menu), press "fix the issue" and that's it, Windows will update

Create a fixed iso for 22489 and use it for upgrade

Not apprises.dll but appraiserres.dll determines the controlling/checking functions.
There even not such a file apprises.dll, how to disable it then.

    Create a fixed ISO: https://forums.mydigitallife.net/threads/win-11-boot-and-upgrade-fix-kit.83724/
And use the UFWS command, the tool puts it on the ISO, just mount the ISO and start Start_Upgrade.cmd as admin.
For WU upgrades read this info: https://forums.mydigitallife.net/threads/win-11-boot-and-upgrade-fix-kit.83724/#post-1670052

He doesn't understand copying a single file (instruction with picture) to installation media and you think he would be able to put together this gigabit sandwich of unknown content?:D

when you use WU it creates this folder

I was deleting appriser.dll instead of appraiserres.dll, my bad

perfect! I deleted appraiserres.dll and it worked thru WU! no need to create a fixed iso!

    Thanks!

You run Windows Update to a newer Win11 version. You got the message "This PC must support Secure Boot". Did update end at that point? Then you searched your local disk for location where Windows Update copied the new version data. Was it C:\$WINDOWS.~BT or some other location? You found appraiserres.dll in that directory, removed it and then how did you continue? Did you restart the whole update? Was all data re-downloaded again? Could you provide more details?

Thanks, so the answer is 'When you act fast enough, at just under 6% downloading the folder is created and the original appraiserres.dll is present, replace/rename/delete it and then you won't get the "this system doesn't meet the minimum requirements" message at all!'. The directory is C:\$WINDOWS.~BT\Sources.
Could you please make me clear what does the abbreviation DU in "DU for Sources" mean?

Yes, or you can just wait for the tpm requirement message to appear, rename appraiserres.dll and press "fix the issue" in WU and it should go past the checks.

Thanks. So there is no need to restart the update.

Could you please make me clear what does the abbreviation DU in "DU for Sources" mean? I mean your linked post https://forums.mydigitallife.net/threads/win-11-boot-and-upgrade-fix-kit.83724/#post-1670052
I am new to abbreviations used on this forum.
