[SOLVED][windows 2008 R2] can't access to itself by \\servername or \\IP ??

    It makes me think of Computer Browsing service, by defaut it is disabled except if the server is a PDC. The PDC of the domain acts as the domain master browser server.

    nice find ! this service was disabled, i enabled it but unfortunately it didn't correct the problem...do i need to reboot the server ? i don't think so...

    Keep warning this service shouldn't be enabled if the server is NOT a PDC (primary domain controller). Reboot is not necessary but you can always try.

    this server is not a Domain controler, it is just uning a dedicated application. OK so i disable the service...

    Try to post a screenshot of the error message if possible ;) and check also the log files in Event viewer.

    Strange, so check DNS or WINS issues, it has been reported also that antivirus without any notifcations can cause the problem on W2008 R2.

    in the event viewer there is nothing relevant, only 6 errors related to the 6 services used by the IVR, they can't start.
    Since the server can't see itself with it's own IP or server name, then all applications network based will not work properly on this server.
