    I have a KMS server, and DNS entries set.

    Other computers can activate against it. This one VM is refusing - giving 0xC004F074 errors.

    running: nslookup -type=srv _vlmcs._tcp

    Code:
    _vlmcs._tcp.lan2        SRV service location:
              priority       = 0
              weight         = 0
              port           = 1688
              svr hostname   = xxxxxxxxxx

    The results are exactly what other working systems return.

    Running: slmgr /ato

    Code:
    Activating Windows(R) 7, Enterprise edition (xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx) ...
    Error: 0xC004F074 The Software Licensing Service reported that the computer could not be activated. The Key Management Service (KMS) is unavailable

    The issue here is it's not even trying to contact the KMS. I installed Network Monitor, and there is not even a lookup performed to determine the KMS server address.

    Any ideas?

    EDIT: It's now activated. But I've no idea why.
