    Hallo!!
    I'm new here!!
I apologize for my bad English...

    Here is te problem.

I'm tryinig to boot my notebook from a HD connected via eSATA. In this HD there isa a fully funtioning Windows 7: the hard disk is the one I've removed from inside the notebook for putting a SSD. I've installed Windows 10 on SSD.

The eSata port is ok: Windows 10 isa able to see the eSata hd and to operate on it.

But the pc doesn't boot from esata....

The pc is a HP Pavilion dv6; BIOS is InsydeH2O

Will you please help me? :worthy::worthy:

    Thank you so much

I doubt booting from esata is possible?

    I think so:
If booting from USB is ok, why not from esata, which is simply an external version of sata protocol?

If it's not possible to select it as bootmedia in the bios settings, it's not supported (maybe someone has a workaround). You could try all bootoptions to find out if it boots from the esata port.

I've done some simple googling and i find a lot of helpfull tips (with this search query: "booting from esata"), as this one:

Sounds like what you did, only the EasyBCD option is missing in your situation?
