Hello, I'm finally installed Windows 8.1 Pro, but I'm done it from 4th try I think, first three try's was not succesful, the system was very buggy, lots of lags and BSOD's... So when I wanted to install WMC and found add features, tried it, but unfortunately I got error message. Does anyone know, is it possible to fix it (Windows is activated, but I'm noticed it before activation).
I could be wrong, but if you used the VL (volume) copy for the install, and then used a retail key to activate. The WMC addon is not available for VL copies of Pro, so you are out of luck. Reading BEFORE install helps
if you are on a regular win 8.1 pro you can ad features by design. If your system is "activated" and you cannot ad features you are not activated and been fooled by something. Consider bsods do not occur on a daily base and you do not have to try 4 times to install 8.1. You messed with some crap activator, did you?
I have installed RTM build 9600 x64 and as I seen ei.cfg there was writed [VL]1 is that something change? And yes I activated it with KMS, which downloaded from this forum.
Any ideas? When installing I put key from technet (first one on Professional) which only worked for that
No, I'm always using x64 OS Or maybe anyone know any other ways from where to get WMC on 8.1? (not installing new os or creating other iso's)
My way would work also with x64 but I'm currently testing only with x86 (smaller size impact). - I'm in the beginning so x64 will take a while (at least more than a month)
Tried that way, but I think, that was unsuccess size was very small 600+ MB and when I tried to test it, it just didin't do anything or maybe in that topic is writed something wrong?
Hi all, Need help on adding WMC with 8.1 Pro. I had a clean install of windows 8.1 pro from an ISO. Activated it via the token method. It shows all activated and updates are recieved although on desktop it says windows 8.1 pro evaluation copy but its all working. Problem: I had clicked on add features, and then brought a WMC upgrade key from Microsoft. That key is not working enven though it is legitimate. The key is 8.1 WMC. Whenever I try to enter the key i receive message- "They key doesnt work.....". Contacted Microsoft about it but they are simply investigating. Anyone can help what the problem would be and how can I add wmc to my activated windows 8.1 pro.?? Thanks a lot.
You have most probably replaced the spp of RTM with the spp of Preview, which is nothing but frankenbuild. Do a fresh install.

Please suggest one best way to activate the retail iso of windows 8.1 pro I have so that I can use the legitimate upgrade wmc key? There are so many waysand I am very confuse and fruated after 3 clean installs already. Many thanks
