Hi there, I have an Hp with Windows 8 x64 Single language key in it's bios. I can install Windows 8.1 single language and it would activate automatically, but the problem is that I need a windows 8 singlelanguage iso. Can Anyone provide an esd or iso of such? or can I convert en_windows_8_x64_dvd_915440.iso to a compatible image to my system.
@LostED No official (MSDN/Technet/Techbench) ISO of Windows 8 CSL is available/leaked; only few OEM ISOs & recovery/syspreped images were available. @crytoy Is there any specific need to stick with 8? 8.1 or 10 CSL is the default (& authentic) upgrade option for that.
Though windows 8.1 sl is working, I prefer Windows 8.0. So if anyone can share his recovery esd or iso i would appreciate.
https://forums.mydigitallife.net/threads/45961/ Calling @LostED. @John Sutherland Core and CoreSingleLanguage are separate SKUs. Digital Entitlement and OEM: DM activations are mutually exclusive.
Hello @Tito - I beg to differ about Digital Entitlement and OEM;DM being exclusive from one another. I went through this same exercise several months ago. At first, activation was successful but later rejected after I went online (Error code 0xC004C008: This product key cannot be used. It is being used on another machine.) You can read about the background and the results here: https://forums.mydigitallife.net/threads/does-ms-blacklist-oem-activation-keys.76589/#post-1416894
@John Sutherland You didn't post feedback there regarding the activation by phone suggestion - usually it fixes the issue. I've never encountered any such issues personally.
I've read something on mdl about that, irrc it had to do with the msdm key being blocked or something, not because of establishing a hwid from it. I see you linked to the thread already
John Sutherland I have tested en_windows_8_x64_dvd_915440.iso and it doesn't work. I always had windows 8, so i still have the original key hardcoded. Tito All the links that you provided are dead. abbodi1406 Thanks man!!!
It could be obtained from here https://forums.mydigitallife.net/threads/windows-8-1-with-update-esds-repository.53855/
Nope, afaik 8 or 8.1 was the first who did use the MSDM, at win 10 first official release (10240.16384) they stopped it for a while, when 10586 got released it was resumed, together with the so-called 1 year free upgrade to 10 and the use of working win 7 and 8.x keys for activating 10.
