A few months ago, I've sysprepped Windows XP through a VirtualBox machine and now I'm able to clone this image on any PC; everything works well except networking.
Ethernet connection acquires an IP, but actually it's isolated from the rest of the LAN, indeed I can't ping nobody else device.
Wi-Fi works only with the program provided with drivers; if I try to use Windoes Zero Config in 90% I can't get an IP, and if I get it, I'm isolated from the rest of LAN, like Ethernet connection.
    What I can do?

What IP is delivered in ethernet? What is the hardware config of the LAN?

if you do sysprep over virtualbox the first xp may not have any internet available.
only at the first clone you can turn on internet, otherwise there are problems

The IP is on the range of DHCP (192.168.11.xxx).
I've a modem that provide internet connection and DHCP server, and a second router in cascading wich I use only for provide Wi-Fi connection and sometimes as ethernet switch. No issues with other devices.
So, if I make another sysprepped image on a physical PC, networking should working fine? Why?

I got it that way, you make sysprep from windows xp, and later put the dragged image on a workstation..to work full with it.
    Is that correct ?

Yes, of course, otherwise how take advantage of sysprep?

I've tried to manually set the IPs both 192.168.11.1 and 192.168.11.254, respectively the modem and the second router, but nothing changes.

if the mask is correct check and see the modem config if you can access it by a web page, look for restrictions or filtering by mac address. Check to see if the config allow you to ping the devices and so on.....If you are on Windows see if you can discover the devices on the LAN.

As I just said, I can't ping any device on the LAN.
The two routers have been configured by me, no filters or restrictions.
It happens only with PC where I cloned this image (on VirtualBox networking worked fine).
    The subnet is correct (255.255.255.0).

I think your problem is that you're using 2 routers (modem + router) in the same network, it is not recommended to do that as you may face ip adress conflict and that is what happens in your case. I suppose that devices which receive wifi from router cannot communicate with the devices which receive the net from the modem.

Replace the router by a simple switch to see if all devices will ping between them.

At the moment I'm not at work, tomorrow I'll try to disconnect the second router and to connect the PC directly to an Ethernet port of the primary router, but I don't think will changes anything; I repeat I've issues only with PCs with this sysprepped image.

You will always get problemme, you instaliest all programs that do not need internet connect, the first clone you use internet connection, otherwise the network adapter you created in the virtualbox, always provide for problems, I can show you something from me

I think I would solve faster using a physical PC and probably with less potential problems, but thanks anyway.

I've tried to connect the PC directly to the primary router, with no good news, so I tried to recreate the sysprepped XP image through a physical PC.
At the beginning networking worked, later I've used DriverBooster to install missing drivers and networking has stopped to work again; so I started all over again, this time installing the drivers manually and now all working properly.
So I think the problem was caused by both a bad sysprep image and drivers installed through DriverBooster.
