having resisted changing from IE8 to IE9 mainly boecause of the s**tty download manager , can anyone suggest either a simple downloader (not download manager) that can be run with IE9 and over ride or disable the IE9 one . or an alternative browser that is as minimilistic as possible . it seems that all the latest ones come with download managers and packed with self advertizing for apps ,etc .
I am a bit pissed at the way PCs seem to be going , and yearn for the quiet life without tabs ,apps ,and being told how to surf .

You can check most popular web-browsers comparsions by googling, but one that i reccomend - Opera browser. its very fast and pretty simple to use. No pop-ups or advertising.
