this only started with the latest build of Windows 10 14393.351

I formatted and reinstalled thinking my Windows is corrupt but after the Windows updates it happens again

OneDrive icon and my SoundBlaster sound control utility don't appear in the taskbar and are not running when I check in Task Manager unless I start them manually

Internet Download Manager is also not running

    nothing cracked, all genuine software

    any ideas?

other programs like my Antivirus (NOD32) and my VPN are not affected

Most likely they are not in auto start list.
If you like, add them there.
If service doesn't start automatically, you may change it to start always automatically.
Sometimes it happens so, if Windows have gotten large updates.

Is it a clean iso you used or a butchered one?

    Clean ISO from Microsoft bro

    I found the culprit:

Faulting application name: Explorer.EXE, version: 10.0.14393.351, time stamp: 0x5801a56fFaulting module name: WlanMediaManager.dll, version: 10.0.14393.0, time stamp: 0x57899952Exception code: 0xc0000005Fault offset: 0x000000000005d4b8Faulting process id: 0x128cFaulting application start time: 0x01d2346c8890a88fFaulting application path: C:\Windows\Explorer.EXEFaulting module path: C:\Windows\System32\WlanMediaManager.dllReport Id: 6f6c8037-055a-4248-b773-dacba086aaeeFaulting package full name: Faulting package-relative application ID:

After I uninstalled the Intel PRO/SET Wireless Driver and rebooted, all the icons showed

So I then installed the latest version which is 19.20.0 and the icons aren't loading again

something in that WLAN Manager is preventing other things to start up after that above fault

I will try installing the driver only without the Intel Software

No need to reinstall. If you want to get rid of the update, use the System Restore Point it created. But that is also not necessary. Just make the apps you want to start automatically and if their icon doesn't appear in the tray, drag and drop it there.

    problem solved

I uninstalled the Intel PRO/Set Wireless driver/app then rebooted

I then installed the driver manually through the device manager without the Intel app which was causing the fault

    now the icons load fine

You can add them to the Startup.

    Code:

    1) Press Windows Key + R to open Run

    2) Copy and paste Shell:Startup into Run and click on OK.

    3) Press Windows Key + R again

    4) Copy and paste %appdata% into Run and click OK.

    5) Navigate to Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu

    6) Copy and paste the shortcuts of the apps you want into folder that's opened when you run shell:startup

Did you see my above post bro? I solved it already, they were in startup, the issue was the faulting app was causing other apps to not load so I installed the driver manually without the bloat WLAN manager and now everything loads

id remove the software folder leftovers like c:\programdata\intel\
reinstall the intel wifi then run revo uninstaller portable to remove it
try jetclean to clean leftovers after

dont forget to do intel bluetooth also..
