After restoring my Windows 10 from a recovery point because it got corrupted and couldn't boot due to a power shortage, some metro apps like calculator, weather, mail ... didn't work... So i ran the commands sfc /scannow and Dism /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth both ran fine and didn't find any problem but my apps still didn't work so i finally ran Get-AppXPackage -AllUsers | Foreach {Add-AppxPackage -DisableDevelopmentMode -Register “$($_.InstallLocation)\AppXManifest.xml”} on powershell and now almost every metro APP isn't working :/ and they got renamed to something like @{Microsoft. I don't know how to proceed to restore the gone Apps :/
Try this before format : When you use the /CheckHealth argument, the DISM tool will report whether the image is healthy, repairable, or non-repairable. If the image is non-repairable, you should discard the image and start again. If the image is repairable, you can use the /RestoreHealth argument to repair the image.
SFC and DISM has no affect on the removable metro apps they are not part of the system components store (WinSXS) if the store app isn't working, the only way would by reonstalling the system
Make a new account and see if that works (probably it won't). If it doesn't do a in place upgrade - it doesn't take long.
This is why I think Windows 10 is just as unstable as Windows Vista. At some point, all the modern app or some of them (or store) will FAIL. And good luck getting them to work again. I really wish it wasn't socially accepted that in order to fix this problem you needed to reinstall Windows, again. Or complete a full refresh. Or scan every file for something that has suddenly become corrupt (which never happened in Windows 7 or 8). And that doesn't guarantee that it will solve the problem either. /end rant
