    hey guys i have a request/test for someone who wants to try something new,,,,:D:D

    i want you to make a windows iso,,, i want to be able to install windows 8 using windows longhorn 4074 setup :clapping:

    if you can do this you will be absolute ledgends in my eyes LOL :worthy:

    I like Longhorn too, especially 4074. But it was such an unstable piece of junk that I only have it for its looks and only on a vm. It wreaks havok on any physical machine I try it on.

    yeah so true,, i only use it on vm,, tho i did use it on a laptop a few years ago and holy crap it had a huge memory leak in it

    AFAIK there was a WIM file format change from build 4093 to build 5048, so no, 4074's setup won't handle 5xxx and later WIMs. The oldest leaked build that will give a working setup is probably 5048.

    But do you mean 4074 old or new installer? There were two versions.
