i cant for the life of me figure out why my puter wont activate screensaver or let my monitors go to sleep when i have certain websites up. the two ive tested are IRCCloud and TweetDeck. if i have them visible anywhere on one of my 3 monitors i cant get screensaver or monitor sleep to function. this means if i run them in windowed mode(chrome) or in a tab that is 'active' and visible on chrome and FF. wtf? youtube functions normally when a video isnt maximized, monitors behave normally, if youtube video is full screen the monitors correctly dont go to screensaver or sleep. i have been told that these two websites(IRCCloud and TweetDeck might be using the <video> tag which could be holding it back. i have no idea but that shouldnt have an effect on the screensaver because those videos are not full screen and it is happening across browsers.

the reason this is driving me insane is because i use these two websites all the time and they are in windowed mode on chrome acting like regular apps for me. anyone have any ideas? ive been running these websites for a while and feel like this just started in the last couple weeks, but i dont have a specific timeline of when the situation started happening.

With the browser(s) open to the page(s) what happens when you double-click X:\Windows\System32\scrnsave.scr?

my screens just go black like a screensaver is going to start. i have it set to to ribbons but dont end up seeing any ribbons lol if i move my mouse i go back to desktop like normal. if i go to the screensaver settings and hit preview, that functions fine.

Try Windows+L which will lock the screen and it'll turn the monitor off in a minute or so. I've only tried that using the lockscreen and don't know if it'll still turn off with the normal log in screen. It's a hack, but it shouldn't be too much of a hassle to be a dealbreaker, at least until you can pinpoint what's going on.

Anything that would wake the computer would also wake the screensaver so it's all the same. Anything in the powercfg wakelist is suspect.
Also, have you tried F8 booting into vga mode? It could be your video card driver.

thanks i will go over those things. it could have been the last NVIDIA update. there is currently an update waiting for me that came in yesterday so i will update those drivers to newest and see if that fixes it. i will report back with any findings.
