Good for a Sony Vaio VGN FZ21E?

I'm hoping this will work on my VGN FZ21E. Can anyone confirm please?

My hope is that the BIOS will then reveal to me fan speed controls. I'm suffering from the Nvidea overheating issue and would like to set my fan to be permanently on!

    thanks
    Paul

Actually I have a more important need to access the BIOS, I'm wondering if I can disable the Nvidia graphics and enable the on board garphics with the INtel chipset on my Vaio. phuonggvgp - the file is marked as private in mediafire, can you open it up please?

    thanks
    Paul

PS Not sure if this will help anyone, but I found a set of BIOS files at the following link: mediafire .com/?c4mziueve99y7rv

If somebody need sony vaio bios version R1120J7 for Sony Vaio VGN-FZ2xxx, it is possible to get it from here: rghost_net/37327678 - in this archive two versions, original and slic 2.1 modified. I'm test it on my Sony Vaio VGN-FZ290E (PCG-391L) - works fine.

    Sony Vaio VGN-FZ21E BIOS (R1120J7)

    Hi All,

As per request I am reuploading it again.

This is original BIOS image for VGN-FZ2 Series only. I got the same from Sony through sources.

This is SLIC 2.0 not modded to 2.1

Please use the Winphlash attached for flashing in windows. No need of create DOS boot disk.

When you use winphlash attached it will take 20 to 30 minutes to flash and after flash started it will not show any progress. Please wait for some time, the flashing will start. Please don't force shutdown. Wait until it finisheses.

Please flash and use it on your own risk, I am not responsible for any damage.

Please make mirror upload as you wish as I am not finding any free uplaod site other than this.

It will be very difficult for me to reupload again. Thanks for your understaning.

    Regards,
    Bodivijay1985

Which manufacturer did you used to mode the original files? after some digging im trying to modify the original bios to put slic 2.1. Or do you still have the file?

BTW, i'm trying this because i bought an SSD to put on VAIO VGN-FZ21Z, and the SSD doesn't appear on bios or let me install windows on it . It say "windows cannot be installed to this disk. this computer's hardware may not support booting to his disk.Ensure that the disk'x controller is enabled in the computer's bios menu".
The problem is that i can't change the SATA controller mode on the bios of this laptop ( to try AHCI or other mode to see if it works) because there is such option on it. So i'm trying to modify the bios to see if i'm able to make it recognize the SSD. So i would appreciate any help anyone can give me because i have run out of options.

Correct...choose the "Save All" option button to save the tables to a file called "AcpiTbls.rw".

If you want someone to help you create the BIOS with the updated SLIC v2.1 license, then you need to upload that file to someplace like sendspace.com.

Or you can mod the BIOS yourself using andyp's PhoenixTool application.

If you don't have an ACPI option already, then I doubt that Sony added it.
