Hello Everyone, I am in need of the genius help here. I just purchased a Toshiba L500 laptop that came with Windows7 Home Premium but it is riddled with garbage and bloatware. I used the SLIC Dump tool and the bios is SLIC2.1 so I proceed to reformat with Win 7 Ultimate. I used one of the ceritificates downloaded from the Win 7 Repository here and a Ultimate Key but the machine will not become activated. There are several toshiba certs in that folder, which one is the correct one ? Please help guy
I would do what Mr. Jinje said and see what happens. If that does not help then use either Daz's 7loader 1.7.7 Repack to activate via software mod. That should do the trick if bios modding does not help you mate.
You do NOT need a software mod..post a dump from the slic dump toolkit and a RWEverything dump..You can activate with the proper cert most likely. I have activated a couple Vista L305s with the toshiba upgrade bios..you need the right cert..
... thus it will not activate if the certificate available to us does not match with the slic on his mobo... thus the available options are... 1. If it came with a recovery disk... insert it on the drive and navigate to "x:/sources/$OEM$ and search for the certificate 2. If it only has a recovery partition navigate to that drive and open the windows image (*.wim) with 7-Zip and navigate to "Y:/Windows/system32/oem" X: - meaning your Optical Drive (CD/DVD Rom) Y: - meaning your Recovery Partition 3. As mr jinje said do a factory restore and dump the certificate using the SLIC Dump toolkit or look for the certificate in "C:/Windows/System32/OEM/"
