    Welcome YEN

    Sorry, I was not prepared...

    - cause i flashed newest september bios and the confusion has begun.

    a) After installing W7, RW 1.4 refuses to run ^This program is not responding^
    b) And shutting down w7 ended with a hanging, still power on

Something must be wrong a the bios or b w7? Test this evening with xp

Coming home, and ola!, YEN was coming around - and yet not possible to create a memory dump  / but I had a good plan , but not realized...

So I installed xp again and surprise - no RW14 and power off :D
Felt happy :) > flashed back old bios - what can I say ... :):)

Finally I updated bios download link of 1st posting and

here is the RW Everything 1.4 Memory Dump report of
    start address : 000FD000
    end address : 000FFFFF
    length : 00003000

So the dump was made from the bios you've linked to at your first post?
    http://www.sendspace.com/file/o1swj2

And this you want to be modded, right? :D

I'll go for it later at weekend...;)

This is most tricky! There is no space at mainbios module! SSv3 isn't possible.

Two ideas: We have to work together to get this working.

First: I'm trying to realise a ssv1 mod.
Please flash this premod and provide to me a rwe dump :D
The premod doesn't activate yet and is safe.
    Premod 1:
    http://www.sendspace.com/file/dn3tb6

    start address : FFFC0000
    end address : FFFFFFFF
    length : 00040000

I need to know if the bios SLIC injection works, before I call it from RSDT.
If I would call a FFh byte area the bios could brick.

Btw: Brick..:D How about recovery? To know recovery would be no problem could make easier thinking...

If the SLIC injection shouldn't work I have to go for a very old method: Static modification. This would mean you must not change the amount of installed physical memory, otherwise the bios doesn't boot anymore...means works only with a fixed amount of installed RAM. I never thought I would need to perform old stuff, I hope my memory is intact.:)

Let's hope ssv1 will work. Your turn.

    Memory Dump of Premod 1

    Hello Yen,

    1. I feel like this after reading your plan : "to be staggered"

    2. I flashed successfully premod1; here is the dump.

    Memory dump: http://www.sendspace.com/file/yqvo3g

    3. By the way, do you remember, I am a proved hot flasher :D For now I prepared a boot disk with uniflash140 and original DFI bios - ready for hotflash on Asus P5A :)

    Best regards

Thanks, but the dump isn't useful. Rwe dumped some wrong code, all before offset 30000 is missing.
I want to break this. :D
One more attempt with premod1 applied:

Could you try dumping with HWDirect.

    http://www.eprotek.com/hwdirect/hwdirect.zip

    Run HWDirect

    Double click Memory Dump

    Enter:
    Physical Address: FFFC0000
    Size: 40000

    Click Dump

Right click in box and click Select All

Right click again and click Copy

Open notepad and paste the code into it. Save the file and please upload it. ;)

Btw: How much RAM have you installed? Just in case I would have to go for method 2. I guess we need hwdirect again then...

Actually 768 MB Ram are installed.

"I am asking myself, why is now after flash premod1 the hibernation not available anymore?"

Hmm. The new dump doesn't show what I need to know.
I'll try for the mod anyway. In case of a brick you know what you have to do.
I'm trying to call the SLIC now and will provide the mod ASAP.
If it shouldn't work, then I'll go for the very first method I have learned....:D

    2. booting to w7 ok - no brick
    3. SLIC_Dump_ToolKit finds no slic info
    4. RWe starts but doubleclick on ACPI tables ends with error
    5. RWe memory dump is working

    What can I dump?

Nothing yet. The method didn't work.
    Next steps:
I'll go for a very old method, but complicated. I'll make a new pre mod, which doesn't activate. Only disadvantage of this kind of mod: You must not change the amount of installed RAM after you have applied the mod, otherwise the PC doesn't boot anymore, but I guess that should be no problem.

After you have flashed the mod, you have to search for your SLIC and tell me where it is :):D
Then I'll link to and it'll activate.

    You want to try?

Ok, this will take some time, but I want to see your pc activated. I'm working on it tonight, hopefully to provide the next premod with instructions to search for your SLIC. If it's get too late, I'll promise to finish tomorrow.
    We will do it.
Install your RAM you want to work with.;)

This bios is really tricky! :)
Btw: This kind of mod was my first one I have made. On my good old asus A7N8X deluxe board.
please flash this new pre-mod. I hope it'll run. Then we will be only a few steps before we can activate...

I'm quoting my reference how you can find your SLIC..funny...:)

    We need Everest.

    # Launch Everest, expand the Motherboard section, then select ACPI. On the right pane, select RSDT, then determine the value of Memory Address.
    # Launch HWDirect. Double click memory dump.
    # Key in the memory address found from Everest in the first Physical Address (Hex) field. Size (bytes in Hex) set to (2800 or above). And then click on Dump button to dump the memory to a file.
    # In the memory dump pane, search and locate SLIC string.Type SLIC and search for it. Note down and remember the physical memory address or offset of SLIC or SLICv (locate in front of the memory dump result).

I want to know your SLIC address.:D

If you have any questions...feel free to ask.
    Here is the new premod:

I hope you can locate your SLIC and the premod is running.
Then I'll link to and can make the final mod. I'll check here later, or tomorrow
    See you!
