    Hi,
I'm having trouble to flash my custom firmware to Asus ME400c tablet. Its a windows 8 machine.
I've edited the stock CAP file but I cannot find a way to flash it. I've tried to install the firmware driver package with my modified file, the device reboots but the firmware does not update. As I understand, the firmware is signed so my modified file doesn't pass verification.
I tried to flash the firmware directly to the 4MB SPI flash chip with no success. Looking at the original dump from the chip and it doesn't contain the firmware in the first place!!!

Where is the firmware located? Could it be on the main 64GB flash chip? How can I access to the firmware address space?

    Thanks,
    Vadim

Don't you think that fw can be encrypted?
Have you tried flashrom tool with -p internal:laptop

It doesn't look like an encrypted firmware. Its a windows 8 tablet, the Windows version of flashrom doesn't support the "internal" switch. Could the firmware be saved on the main flash memory? If so, how to get/flash it?
    Thanks,
