I can understand why people are not yet upgrading from Windows 7 to 10, but I would advise no one to still use Windows XP (or the embedded thing) as their desktop OS. Detach network connection from the PC. Store important files elsewhere and have an offline backup. Use an OS for which you don’t have to get updates via some scripts, because it’s not really supported anymore, upgrade to a modern OS / Linux.
