No it wouldn't, also please don't open pointless threads. There are existing topics you can discuss that in.
You are wrong. There is no activation step at all, it re-uses your previous activation when you use the Reset/Refresh functionality.
I am sure you can back up your activation to a USB, or OneDrive or the like. When the RTM of Windows 10 comes out as an upgrade, go to C:\Windows\SoftwareDistribution\Download folder, grab the ESD file and decrypt it to an ISO. Then you have the ISO, and the WIM to play with.
I would not be willing to try or trust above without clarification from MS. I believe we have a lot of options to consider. 1. Does upgrading mean we can fresh install. 2. Does upgrading mean putting Windows 10 on top of another OS (Upgrading) 3. Do Window Insider's get a free ISO 4. Do you have to be a Windows Insider by a certain date to get free ISO, (If that is the case) I think everyone needs to be aware of all the options so they can plan ahead as MS has said you can upgrade only 1 time per device, At first I like everyone else I thought free ISO, but now, I'm not so sure, MS has spent a lot of $$ on Winders 10, what better way than to let everyone upgrade, but pay for ISO's (Maybe not for windows insiders) And yes I believe it should have it's own thread, maybe more people will see it and come up with a plan in case It does not happen as we think, Remember 1 upgrade and your stuck with it, please be prepared for whatever they do.
Well, if I don't get an ISO immediately I will do ESD decrypt to ISO as I outlined above. I have done this before, and it works GREAT, so no reason not to trust it. Either way, my system will be fresh as soon as the upgrade arrives.
Also, we can upgrade to Windows 10, But, what version Plus everyone wants to install RTM in July, Remember 1 install, The Windows 10 final release will be coming over between August and September 2015 so it is better to wait, that probably will be impossible here, so bend over, get wallet out and make Microshaft the richest company in the World. lol
well to me upgrading is always been writing on top of the previous OS. but MS mite have a different view on it when it comes to win 10
reset and refresh both use the same activation so it's not counted as a second install it's still the first it just wipes all programs and cleans junk out we went over this long time ago no need for pointless threads made for tin foil hats
When you do a upgrade Windows it will move everything over to Windows.old, install Windows from scratch and start a migration process that depends on what you choose. If you keep nothing it will only migrate activation data, if you keep everything it will obviously migrate a s**t ton more... which to you will look like it overwrote the previous OS but it didn't.
Yes, but as stated above RTM is July, that's when most will install, but finished Win 10 is Aug or Sept, a lot of changes between, and if they give free version of Winders 10, it will probably be cheapest version, not pro.
Get ISO (EASY). Check the "Don't keep anything" option. Upgrade. I don't know if you get the dialog to chose to keep something when you upgrade over Windows Update (like the average consumer will do, which you arent). If you have Windows 7 Pro/Ultimate you get W10 Pro, if you have Windows 8 Pro you get Pro, if you have Home/Core.. you get Home. Currently you always get Pro though, maybe they are still going to announce that Insiders get Pro as "thanks" (not a free license, but Pro even if you have W7 Home) or they will actually downgrade people with the RTM build to their real SKU. I don't think RTM is what Microsoft will release to everyone, but GA will be but that's just speculation. So July may be RTM, Microsoft releases ISO for Insiders and OEMs and pushes Update to all Insiders. General Availability (Launch) in September, everyone starts seeing Windows 10 update popping up even if they are not Insiders.
im not worry their always a way to go around windows activation....im positive their will be a activator floating around.
