Stop Modern Apps from running in the background?

    I'm having a strange issue I never really had in Windows 8.1.

    For some reason in Windows 10 modern apps seem to pop up after a while running in the background even if I haven't used them.

    For example, if I restart my computer after a few minutes / hours recently used modern apps will start opening in the background. Examples such as Calculator, Calendar, Weather, Minecraft Windows 10 Edition, Netflix, Store.

    This is probably some new feature to make them start faster by hibernating them in the background but I don't exactly want this feature.

    Does anyone have any solutions?

    Thanks, I found some of the apps running in the background in there but not others. Calculator a few others are missing from the list. Interesting.
