:)I'm back to hard drives again. Bought a 40 gig TriGem this week which had supposedly been fully tested, (and which I put through a couple of tests myself);it passed all the tests but_several machines could only see it on the first boot; if it succeeded in going into xp setup during the "copying files" stage it would say it couldn't copy some file (always different ones) and refuse to go on. Any one have a clue on this? I'm out of ideas.

Is it in a different file structure, other then ntfs ?
Would be consistent with not being able to access it.

No, it was only formatted ntfs. But on my last effort to do something with it I tried to re-format in disk manager and it couldn't do it.
