I could not find any solve for this...... can anybody help me???????????????????
Morning Deb Rider, Same thing happened to my niece computer. All .exe file opened by wmp. It is on Windows7 or Vista, right? The easiest way to solve this problem is to create a new User Account. Then log off and log to the newly created User Account. Check (open/run) .exe files in this new Account, all .exe files should work properly. If everything really works, then move all important documents and/or files including important shortcuts to this new User Account and delete the old User Account. After deleting the old account, you may wish to rename the new account using the old name. Good luck
Hi Or try this: Import Attached Registry Settings to his PC. (Just unpack, doubleclick and say "Yes" to the questions) Maybe you have to restart the PC. That should fix the Problem
thanks for the quick reply guys.... Ya thats in windows 7.... i created new user account to solve this yesterday....Jst wanted another solution.... Thanks 'JC' for the reg file.... I haven't tried that...bt i will try soon... Hope it will work... Thanks....
You just need to un-associate .exe files with wmp! Go to default programs in control panel and untick .exe in the WMP section. Hope that helps?
What if you can't even open control panel and/or its content? Except explorer.exe, most exe are associated with wmp!
Almost clever, but... command prompt is... exectable, which in that situation will NOT run (I know because I experienced it myself) sebus
He only needs to overwrite his wrong registry settings with my (default) settings. I solved with this way a problem on a (business) client PC. It works and it is the fastest way to solve this problem.
