I just experienced a strange problem with my Dell Studio 1555 laptop and Windows 7 X86 version.
I have TuneUp Utilties 2010, so I changed my logon screen with it. It does look great. But the problem is as soon as I apply any custom logon screen my Boot System password resets, as in it doesn't ask for Password at the time system startup anymore(I am talking about boot password not win7 pwd)
But if the logon screen is original win7 one, it doesn't reset the password.
If I apply pwd again after custom logon, either my logon screen doesn't come or boot up pwd resets again after 3-4 boots...

    So my ques is..
How this logon screen affecting BIOS pwd?

Stop hovering to collapse... Click to collapse... Hover to expand... Click to expand...

    Your BIOS pass resets ????

Some corruption in the BIOS...try resetting CMOS.
If that don't solve it, try reflashing...

EDIT : also try this method for changing logonscreen :

it's way easier than with TuneUp, and could bypass your issue all together.
