Dude, the fault dll is part of microsoft visual studio 6. Odds are that visual studio 6 is incompatable with windows 7. I would remove that program and see if the problem is resolved. If so then either get a newer version of visual studio or leave that program off of your pc. Try visual studio 2010 beta 2(Free) and see what happens dude.
You can also use Visual Studio 2008, it works perfectly in Windows 7...that is what I use. If you are a college student, you can get it for free, cd key and all, from Microsoft DreamSpark. That is how I got it for free, along with some other MS software.
But I have`nt installed visual studio. Heck I don`t even have it`s setup. Apart from that I have`nt installed any incompatible software.
Yeah it is, it can be caused by a corrupted VC++ runtime or something, I would try reinstalling visual C++ runtime.
I don't know but this file msvcrt.dll came as a part of Windows 7 installation. Maybe yours got corrupted. Here's the one for my computer if you wanna change it - sendspace.com/file/f539px. It has to be stored in C:\Windows\System32\
Dude, it is part of visual studio, google that .dll like I did! tripranav remove visual studio 6 and then search your pc for that .dll file. The search should come up with no results telling you that it is removed. It may have something to do with c++ runtime but that is installed when you install visual studio so I would definately remove visual studio 6.
Have u tried win update ? Maybe it would give you an updated c++ runtime redist. That would fix the error too.
Yes, and allmost every pc gets that c++ redist through win update ! My guess : He installed some hotfixes, one of them containing an update for the c++ redist. Somehow that was faulty, as is with hotfixes on more then one occasion. Finding the kb, and uninstalling it would then fix it. If he installed some hotfixes along the way, he should definitely check that.
nope I have`nt installed any updates till now, also when I installed win 7, i kept my automatic updates off.
Ati Catalyst graphics driver software installs some elements of microsoft visual c++, could the dll have come from that?
Well then, maybe u should turn them on, and install the important updates. win7 needs them. I bet u'll get an updated redist, and your problem will be solved.
