Just wanted to provide another "voice", so to speak.... I updated to 10240 (from 10166 or was that 10172/8?) thru the update process (came thru on the fast ring). Went thru smoothly. Usual time to download, update, configure, settings, etal. As a note, I'm using VMWorkstation (on top of Win 7 SP1). I also have Office 2013 running on it. Haven't used it a lot, but seems to be OK. I did notice that the note on the lower rh side of the screen is gone (the one that mentions version and evaluation, I think). My plan for upgrading will be to backup (I use cloning) of my C drive with Win 7, then upgrade to Win 10 sometime 3-5 months after release date (to capture any early bug fixes). Play with it to see how it works and either make that my main system, or restore Win 7 and not worry about it. Cheers....
