I refused to install all these suspicious updates + the Win10 propaganda update so far. Nonetheless, that batch could come in handy.

Thanks. I've been uninstalling KB3035583 & hiding it in WU.
Had no idea there were so many other updates worth getting rid of...

I have noticed KB3035583 keeps coming back to install even when I hide it in WU. I really do not want 10 on this machine. I disabled WU after running this tool. This batch tool is a keeper for me.

Yep, KB3035583 showed up a couple of days ago, so I hid it again. I got a feeling MS is going to be persistent about that one, and other "optional" updates.

After I ran the batch file, one of the updates came right back, and I hid it. I'm running Win-7 and quite happy with it. So I might do as you have done and just turn them off Windows Updates for good.

The moment I have installed win 10 I removed defender disabled updates and most the crap Microsoft services. Won't be updating anything, and most of those updates are just security updates.

I could not uninstall KB3022345, KB3068708, KB3035583, KB3044374, KB2976978 from Windows 8.1 Pro x64. Neither from Control Panel, there is no "Uninstall Button" for above updates, nor from cmd script. Tried Microsoft account, as Admin etc. With cmd I get the same error for all of them:

"Update for Microsoft Windows (KBxxxxxxx) is required by your computer and cannot be uninstalled"

Any solution for this problem Please?

    Edit:

Could "dism /online /cleanup-image /startcomponentcleanup /resetbase" command be responsible of this error or it is just the same M$ sh.t (like: no "real" solution of disabling/deleting Win 10 telemetry) that is giving all of us such a hard time?

Wanted to personally thank OP for keeping this thread alive and updated, I just love my 3 machines with windows 7 (like before all this cloud/tablet/telemetry mayhem).
My gut is telling me I should adopt as a precaution also the firewall rules + hosts from the more adventurous fellows who take one for the team testing Win spy 1.0

IF I remember correctly if you ran that command you won't be able to uninstall updates that were applied to the system prior to running that specific command.

Excuse me while the paranoia increases on the forum.

**Cue that moment where everyone checks every update ever released**

Guys there has always been diagnostics for Windows. Its there to fix bugs on the operating system.

Also did you guys ignore all the stickies for this thread. I mean come on we have been over this s**t before. However in the meantime i will enjoy the popcorn as the forum goes nuts.

Have been dealing with windows since 1997, and YES you are right: "diagnostics" has always been there, but never at this scale... Not every single "Celle" of your body was scanned/supervised like this.
Now if I want to uninstall an update, It's up to me. It may be because I'm paranoid, for stability reasons or for whatsoever reason.

Since I Could not do it I was trying to find the reason why. As mentioned above, I think running: dism /online /cleanup-image /startcomponentcleanup /resetbase command make it impossible to uninstall updates installed before running that command.

If you don't have anything better to say, yeahhh, stick to your popcorn.
Enjoy and THANK YOU for being so helpful and constructive.

    @s0x

    Thank you for helping.
For same reason "Thanks" and " Like" buttons doesn't work with my account. It's been a while when I press those buttons nothing happens. So I'm doing that here:biggrin:

Similar to my on windows 7, I uninstalled all the spy updates but after reboot it still shows it's installed,
The only way to do this which can be trusted is new windows installation and make sure not to install the spy updates.
