    Hi
I own a netbook with only 1024x600 resolution which runs and looks okay with the classic Explorer desktop.
However nearly all Metro apps refuse to run with it whining that the resolution is too low..

I could downscale the screen to 1024x768, but then text in Explorer desktop windows is pretty illegible.

Is there a way to auto-switch resolution between Metro and Explorer?
Is there a Win8 API function returning information which shell type is actually active?
If yes I could perhaps program a service routine in C but then I am not really an experienced Win developper.

    Regards
