Switching from amd to intel

    If you would make a switch between intel/amd motherboards like would your OS be affected? or would or it wouldt realy change anything.

    It depends what you're switching from/to obviously.
    A higher-end AMD system will only change in a few ways such as heat generation, cache amount, and processor features.
    Going from a lower-end AMD system will be an extremely drastic change.

    Intel is definitely superior, but it's more expensive for the same amount of processing power and cache memory.

    As far as the OS, you wouldn't really notice much of a difference except in the way the filesystem uses the cache memory.
    The functionality would be the same; some things would just be a little faster.

    Your OS will probably blue-screen with the chipset/platform change.
    You could use some tool to reset the hal (ardware Abstraction Layer), then change motherboards.
    On booting the new board your OS will re-detect devices & install them.

    Sorry but I can't think of the tool I used. It was a cloning package that included that option.
    Some of them list it as "Bare Metal Backup".

    Ahh, now I remember. I used ShadowProtect...
