Please do anyone knows how I can upgrade/downgrade from Insider Preview 16362 (Skip Ahead) to Insider Preview 16294 and Keep personal files and apps? Grateful for your help
Thanks, will give it a try and revert EDIT: Unfortunately, this doesn't work for me. Says my system is up to date.
In your case you should really only have to make sure you have an installer for each of the programs you use, a copy of your 'Users' folder which probably has any important configs you may need again and any other custom folder you have created on your C Drive on a separate HDD or computer and then clean install. Don't trust Microsoft to keep the promise that your files are right where you left them when you can do it yourself. Just like the desktop should only be a place that is for programs/utilities you are going to be working with during your current session and then re-archive/toss or shortcuts, your C drive should only house your Windows install, programs that can be reinstalled, and cloud synced files. It has become basically a ROM to complement your RAM. No important data should be kept on it without a backup plan moreso if you are build hopping and especially so if you are trying to take the risk hopping backwards.
Thanks. This appear to be the inevitable. I understood what it takes/cost to be an insider. I actually wanted a short cut as I'm constrained with time. I have always preferred the clean install option. I have installer for all my programs. I only wished there was a way to backup and reinstall outlook IMAP data so that I will not need to re-download from server. I more than 30 GB of email data
@Enthousiast I know the post had in it some convoluted grammer. I managed to understand what he meant. You know, not all of us had English as first language.
English is my first language, but I'm missing at least a half dozen commas, especially in that first sentence. I was about to fall asleep while I typed that up and I easily forget that, while I can continue on in the same sentence, not adding a comma signifying to the reader is questionable grammar at best.
